How to Rent a Student Apartment with Us

We have many available student apartments, so there’s a good chance you’ll find your new home with us. Here’s how the process works—from applying to moving in.

1. Register for the Student Housing Queue

All our student apartments are managed through Boplats Växjö (External link, opens in new window) External link, opens in new window., the municipal housing agency in Växjö.

To apply for housing, you need to:

  • Register in the student housing queue
  • Create a search profile

  • It’s free to join
  • You can register from the year you turn 17
  • You earn one queue point per day
  • Right now, there are many available student apartments—so you can get housing even with few points!

2. Choose Your Student Housing Area

We offer over 2,000 student apartments on campus at Linnaeus University. You can choose between:

  • Corridor rooms
  • Shared apartments
  • Private apartments

We have five different student housing areas on campus.

💡 As a student, you pay rent for 10 months* per year, unlike regular apartments which have 12-month rent.

*If the lease period is shorter than six months and includes rent-free months, the rent will be recalculated based on a 12-month rental rate.

3. View Available Student Apartments

Once you’re registered in the student housing queue, you can start browsing available listings.

💡 Each listing is posted for 1–2 weeks. The application deadline is clearly stated in the ad.

4. Apply for Student Housing

To apply:

  • Go to the current listing
  • Click the “Express Interest” button
  • Follow the instructions

5. Upload Your Admission Letter

To proceed, you need to upload a valid admission letter or application confirmation. Do this in your search profile:

6. Sign the Rental Agreement

Before signing, we’ll check that you meet our rental criteria.

To rent a student apartment, you must:

  • Be admitted to or have applied for post-secondary education eligible for CSN (Swedish student aid)
  • Complete at least 15 ECTS credits per semester
  • Live in student housing for a maximum of 6 years

Once everything is approved, you can sign the contract using Mobile BankID or by visiting our customer service center.
